3. Create an adjustment layer
4. Remove red eye

A new funding model for photojournalists

©Sarah Elliott

Due to the decline in print media - magazines, newspapers and the like - funding for in-depth documentary projects has declined sharply. Using a model similar to Kickstarter, Emphas.is seeks to fund documentary projects through project specific donations collected via their website. The photo above was taken by Sarah Elliott and funded by Emphas.is. The project documents rape victims in the Congo. Check out the full story on the NY Times Lens blog here. Thanks to David Wagner for bringing this story to my attention.
