Announcements!

Some news and events you should know about:

1. EXTENDED FRIDAY OPEN LAB HOURS! Starting this Friday, October 28 lab hours on Fridays will extend until 10pm. The digital lab, the darkroom and the lighting studio will all be open. New lab tech Rita Melamud will be running the show. Please take advantage of this time to work!

2. PHILLY PHOTO DAY - OCTOBER 28. Sponsored by Philadelphia Photo Arts Center. Philly Photo Day is coming up on Friday, October 28th! Everyone in Philadelphia is invited to take a picture of anything you like as long as it’s taken on the 28th within the city limits. You’ll have until October 31st to select your favorite picture and upload it
Then on November 10th, from 6-9pm, join PPAC at the Philly Photo Day Opening Reception. Every single picture we receive will be printed and hung for exhibition in our space at 1400 N American St. Reprints of all the images will be available for $25. 3. CHAD STATES "CRUISING" BOOK RELEASE PARTY! Saturday, November 19 from 6-7pm head down to the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center for a book release party for Chad's new book "Cruising." I am sure Chad would like to see current and former students along with everyone else from Bucks Photo Land so don't miss it!

Exhibition News. . .

A huge congratulations to former Bucks photo student Paul Sell and current student Rachel Smith - both have great news about exhibitions and awards!

Rachel Smith - Two of Rachel's photographs were selected for exhibition as part of the InVision Photo Festival College Photography Contest. For more information on the exhibition, opening reception, etc please check this link. A huge congrats to Rachel - she had two photos selected from tough competition! Way to go!

Paul Sell - two of Paul's images were given awards in the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor's annual photo contest. "Bombs Bursting in Air" took first place in the "Canal Culture" category and was overall grand prize winner and "Stone Bridge over Pidcock Creek" took first place in the "Historical Architecture and Engineering Marvels" category. A huge congratulations to Paul for the well-deserved honors.
