Monday Morning Musings - Nicholas Nixon, 40 years of the Brown Sisters

In 1975, photographer Nicholas Nixon turned the lens of his 8x10 view camera towards his wife and her three sisters.  Although he did not know it at the time, he was about to begin on a 40 year project.  This year, Nixon made the 40th yearly portrait of the four sisters.  While each photograph is powerful as a singular image, the project is even more so when viewed as a series.  The NY Times has a nice description of the project along with all 40 images on their website here.  Enjoy.

Congratulations to Suzan Gottshall and Ann Marie Luyando!

©Suzan Gottshall - "Passing Through" 2014 - will be exhibited as part of the InVision Photo Festival
