Tim Davis Lecture at Philadelphia Photo Arts Center

This Thursday photographer Tim Davis will speak about his work at the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center from 7-8:30pm. A reception and book signing will follow the talk. This is a great opportunity to hear an artist speak about his work. The Philadelphia Photo Arts Center describes Davis' most recent project:
The Philadelphia Photo Arts Center is excited to continue its free lecture and book signing series with photographer Tim Davis. Using the ancient city of Rome as his backdrop, Davis spent 11 months exploring the outskirts of the Eternal City with his large-format camera for his latest body of work, The New Antiquity. Instead of focusing on the famous ruins, Davis turned his camera toward the unique and often overlooked objects that litter the city streets. Referring to the decaying buildings and structures as “a soon to be ancient past,” Davis continued his exploration of the historical shift of archaeological sites by including similar scenes from China and the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Davis has the uncanny ability to show us what we have always seen, but have never noticed.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity.
